African American and Hispanic children ages 4-14 are drowning at a higher rate than other children. The YMCA has created a national initiative called Safety Around Water to help address this issue.
ymca's "Safety around water" Video series
I had the opportunity to partner with the talented creative teams at Carol H. Williams Advertising and Igniter Films to produce a series of 9 videos in English and Spanish to help promote the YMCA's national Safety Around Water program. This program is important because drowning continues to be a public health problem, disproportionately affecting lower income families and youth of color. The Y is making a difference by providing accessible water safety classes that teach kids how to swim and be safe around the water. Public health is a passion point for our House, so it was very meaningful to contribute to this project. Learn more about this project and our freelance production services here.
71% of the World is Water, Children Are 100% Curious. Teaching children how to be safe around water is not a luxury; it is a necessity. The YMCA’s Safety Around Water program can help you make sure they learn essential water safety skills, which can open up a world of possibilities for them to satisfy their curiosity safely. www.ymca.net/watersafety
